Thought I would share a little update on something I am working on with the brilliant artist Jennifer Epton of Akai Ito Studio.
The name probably sounds familiar because we are already working together on ‘Bulwark’ which I am super excited about and hopefully we will have the pitch package together for early 2018 so we can see which publishers are interested but this little project is not ‘Bulwark’.
Jennifer and I have been working on a six-page manga story to enter into Manga Jiman Competition (UK).
To explain the caliber of artist I am working with here I will say that she has been in the top ten for the last two years running.
Our story is called ‘Snoozdini’ and is about a magician who can’t sleep, he suffers from no confidence or belief.
He is visited by a spirit who tells him about three tasks he must complete that have been set by the elders of magic, then and only then will he be a better magician and also get to sleep.
The main character is a magician called Dmitri.
The sprite is called Elfred.
I don’t want to spoil too much of the story but once the competition ends and we are allowed to share the story I will put it all up here for you to read.
So lucky to be working with Jennifer on TWO projects, this manga and the other a manga-inspired comic.
